Debbie Saunders Workouts February 2011
What a brilliant month January was, as promised I started gently and built up slowly, and gradually increased the pace over the month, by now we are pretty much back on track, so I let my yoga class choose the February focus, and they chose waists and tums, I am more than happy with this . Well done to all my Mon/Tues girls for keeping the energy high in the calorie killing dance class, it seems we are loving the music and I am seeing some great dance moves happening.
I have experienced first hand this week, just how good exercise is for stress. I have to be honest and say there has been some stupid amounts of stress for me, (and for stupid reasons) but and its a HUGE but, finishing and starting everyday with a class of one sort or another has been fantastic. A long chat on Friday with several of you about what it was that proved so effective about the classes was very informative, and ALL of us agreed that we started these classes to get fitter and trimmer, but keep coming along because they “keep us sane” and that the more we don’t feel like bothering to come along and workout, the more we want to hibernate, is in fact the more we need to get to class, and the better we will feel for it.
As you all know I am constantly looking for ways to learn more, whether it be nutrition, teaching techniques or just a new dance routine, so I am hoping to attend “move it” a 3 day convention, on dance at Olympia, where I can take advanced Pilates classes, go to body conditioning session and dance classes. Oh, a lovely side line is that Kat is dancing there. Fingers crossed i get some new easy to follow dance moves.
CLASS OF THE MONTH – just has to be my very first fitness class of the year, the 8-9pm dance and prance class, was superb, we all pushed through it, I don’t think I can say any of us enjoyed it, but we got through it and felt a load better for it, and it was great to be back with all my girls again.
CLIENT OF THE MONTH – is Sharon Barnfield, who keeps bringing new people along to class, her latest addition is the lovely Jo.
BATH SPA OUTING – we are taking another group to Bath Spa for the afternoon, £35 for a great relaxation session, 4 hours of total bliss, Friday 29th July, session starts at 3.30pm. First come first served, money payable to D T Saunders, asap. I expect we will catch the train up and go for a meal after again! Phone me 07779 802110
Tuesday tips – the class facebook page, Debbie Saunders Workouts has had Tuesday tips, little ways to be fitter, healthier and trimmer,
• Stop leaving stuff at the bottom/top of stairs, walk up or down and put it away! Burning calories the easy way.
• If you really want to eat it, DO! just make sure you enjoy and savour every bite, and stop when you have had enough. NO SCOFFING TODAY
• Leave the "clean plate club", eating food you do not want is more of a waste than binning it! you will only wear excess food on your hips.
• Put a glass by the sink, and drink a glass full of water every time you see it. Making you feel better effortlessly
Make sure you become a fan and pick up each new way of making you feel better EASILY
Feedback forms –Many thanks for filling them in, they have proved invaluable, some fantastic comments, most about how friendly and welcoming you are, and how much fun everyone makes the class, this is down to all of you and your great attitude to your fitness classes, your refusal to take it too seriously and the cheerful way everyone is made to feel welcome.
Is there an easy way to make yourself feel happy? I think there is! Can meditation make you happier? See the discussion page on the facebook site or the Health and Fitness articles on www.debbiesaunders.co.uk. Meditation is far easier than you think, and has immediate effects, my Friday evening Pilates class is very used to having 3-5 minutes “quiet time” (Sometimes known as “storytime”) at the end of the session and know how good this makes them feel. My yoga sessions and all my Pilates all have a moment of relaxation and meditation, and I get fantastic feedback from this every week. I sometimes read out quotes etc that have been given to me, at the end of this newsletter is one on the best –enjoy, cut out and put on your fridge
STAY AND PLAY – as most of you have seen we have a whole load of new soft play equipment, and from Friday 4th March will be opening the gym, to parents and toddler on a Friday afternoon. 1.30pm-3.45pm. £4.00 for an hours play with mum or dad. A qualified coach will be present.
A smile costs nothing, but gives much-
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it usually lasts forever.
None are so rich that can get along without it-
And none are so poor but that can be made rich by it.
It enriches those who receive, without making poor those who give-
It creates sunshine in the home,
Fosters good will in business,
And is the best antidote for trouble-
And yet it cannot be begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value
Unless it is given away.
Some people are too busy to give you a smile-
Give them one of yours-
For the good Lord knows that no one needs a smile so badly
As he or she who has no more smiles left to give.
